Containers should be sealed using a metallic seal conforming to drawing 8794342 (Aluminum Seal).
Palletizing should be in accordance with WR/724-1 or drawing 7517077.
6.7.2 Marking. In addition to any special marking required by the contract or order, shipping
containers should be marked in accordance with the requirements of MIL-STD-129 and 49 CFR 171-178.
Proper shipping name and serial number in accordance with CFR 49 is "POWDER, SMOKELESS, UN
0161." The following United Nations Performance Oriented Packaging marking as depicted below
should be applied on side of container opposite the identification marking with letters 0.50 inches
minimum height. Encirclement of U/N symbol should be sufficiently large to provide a minimum clear
spacing around letters. The double asterisks (**) indicate the year packed, e.g., 09 for 2009.
